Letter of concern
September 13, 2009
Happy New Year and enquan aderessen!
We would like to express our gratitude to you in publishing our information and the work you are doing is commendable to expose the dictatorial Woyane tribal regime. Afar Human Rights Organisation is a legally registered organisation with official leadership that work to inform the human rights violations in Ethiopia in general and in Afar region in particular.
Further, we would like to inform you about our concern on the Press Release on the name of Afar Human Rights Organisation publish on your web site September 12, 2009. http://ecadforum.com/blog/2009/09/12/ethiopia-afar-human-rights-organization/ and http://www.ethiox.com/news.php?readmore=1033, that we are not accountable for.
Overall we do not have any reservation on the content of this press release and we are more than happy to join the struggle with our compatriots on ďMarch for FreedomĒ. Itís unfortunate that we didnít have the information about the events mentioned. If we knew, not only by written but also we would assign our members to take part in place. However, this Press Release forwarded to you by Mr Abdalla Hassan was not from AHRO. Although, with his good intentions Mr. Abdalla has violated the rights of our organisation in using its name illegally and we donít have a member with this name.
Our concern is on the issue of legality and accountability, which we hope you understand. We are put in a delicate situation, on one hand to the content and the message of the Press Release is commendable and in principle we endorse the idea and we donít want to denounce it, on the other hand it is not released by AHRO and therefore it is illegal. We donít know what this person is going to write next time using our name as Woyane has been involved in such kind of issues previously.
What we ask you is to give us the contact details including the IP address of the person who submitted the document, because it was not sent from our official e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org. We leave other options of actions to you. In future, however, we recommend you to publish information submitted to you only from email@example.com.
Keep on the good work and we look forward to hear from you the soonest you can.
