Open letter to the Government of Sudan
Press Releases

Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Party (EPRP)
September 15/2009

OPEN LETTER TO THE GOVERNMENT OF THE SUDAN
WITHDRAW FROM ETHIOPIAN TERRITORY FAST!

The EPRP calls on the government of the Sudan led by General Omar Al-Beshir to withdraw immediately and without condition from the Ethiopian territory that it is occupying in Gondar region.

The Sudan government has illegally occupied Ethiopian territory, chased away Ethiopian peasants and farmers from their land, closed farms, stationed Sudanese soldiers on Ethioppian soil, damaged farm machinery, arrested and taken to the Sudan Ethiopian nationals and even killed several others over the past months. The grim reality of this illegal occupation has not changed up to now and the EPRP is forced once again to call on the Sudan to withdraw its soldiers from Ethiopian land.

Attempts to mobilize Ethiopians against the invasion have been thwarted both inside and outside the country by the sold out regime of Meles Zenawi and its hirelings. However, the mobilization of the Ethiopian people against this outrage and attack on sovereignty is continuing and will have dire consequences for the invaders and their accomplices.

Sudan should withdraw its soldiers in Quara and release the farmers it has jailed. International public opinion should also be mobilized against this Sudanese aggression which sooner or later will be resisted and ended by the people of Ethiopia.

It is sad to note that the government of General Beshir continues to act against Ethiopians ever since it came to power, deporting , mistreating and killing refugees, letting the spies and death squads of Melss Zenawi operate freely in the Sudan and now occupying Ethiopian land. This should end.
